Police are trying to piece together the final hours of a 20-year-old Embrun woman who was found dead in her badly damaged car just south of Casselman on Saturday night.
The car was discovered by a passing motorist at about 11:30 p.m. in a ditch along St. Albert Road just south of Casselman, according to Russell County OPP.
The passerby tried to talk to the victim in the driver's seat, but she wouldn't respond.
The car had sustained serious damage after crashing into the ditch, OPP said.
Paramedics soon arrived and pronounced her dead, OPP said. She's been identified as 20-year-old Mylaine Charland of Embrun.
Police are now trying to find out what happened in the hours leading up to the single-vehicle crash.
The car was a red Saturn SC2, OPP said.
