An 80-year-old woman from Perth, Ont., was killed Sunday afternoon after her van collided with a pickup truck travelling on Highway 7.

Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police said the Perth woman was driving her van from a private driveway onto the highway near Gambles Side Road at about 4:35 p.m. when her van collided with the westbound travelling truck.

She died at the scene after succumbing to her injuries. Police have withheld her name pending the notification of her family.

The driver of the truck, a 49-year-old man from Oakville, Ont., was uninjured. Two passengers, a 48-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl were taken to hospital for minor injuries. Two other girls, aged 14 and 10, were uninjured.

Highway 7 was closed in both directions at the scene of the incident on Sunday.
