Dog finds possible human remains in west Quebec

A dog in the community of La Pêche, Que., brought home what are believed to be human bones after venturing away, police say, and they are now investigating.

Police in western Quebec are investigating after a dog brought home what are believed to be human bones.

MRC des Collines de l'Outaouais police say a dog owner in the community of Farrellton in La Pêche, Que., was at home Monday morning on Chemin Hogan when the dog returned.

Police say the remains were found in a private forestry lot at the end of a dead-end road, about a kilometre away from Lac Saint-Charles.

The origin of the bones is not known.

Further details have not been released and police remain at the home.
