A group aiming to aid local farmers is hoping for a big turnout at this Sunday's Farm Aid concert at Ottawa Stadium.

Ottawa Stadium Group chair Don Foley helped to organize the show, which features Canadian country music performers such as Paul Brandt, Jason Blaine, Michelle Wright and Emerson Drive.

Foley said the promoters have pre-sold about a thousand tickets and say they need to sell at least four thousand more tickets to break even.

"It's a great show, it's all Canadian content... it's going to be one of the better shows in the valley this year. So I think a lot of people will come, hopefully," said Foley.

Profits from the show will go the Ontario Farmers Association to distribute to struggling cash crop and livestock farmers in the area.
