Ottawa paramedics say a construction worker’s hand was crushed and two fingers were partially amputated after a work site incident.
Paramedics say the incident happened at the Sir John A. MacDonald Building at 144 Wellington St., near O’Connor Street, at 12:57 p.m. on Wednesday.
They treated the 31-year-old man for a crushed hand and partial amputation of two fingers before taking him to hospital.
The man was in stable condition when he arrived at hospital.
The Ontario Ministry of Labour is investigating.
This work site injury happened one block away from where 44-year-old worker Marc Nelson died at the Bank of Canada work site. That incident happened after a crew was demolishing a wall made of cinder blocks in the basement of the building at Bank and Wellington streets.
