The proposed street name change, which is available for public input, would see the existing Brisebois Crescent in Orleans changed to Eric Czapnik Way.

The road is in the suburb of Orleans, northeast of the intersection of St. Joseph Boulevard and Tenth Line Road next to the Ottawa police station.

Czapnik, a Polish immigrant, was stabbed to death outside the Civic campus of the Ottawa Hospital on Dec. 29, 2009.

Former Saskatchewan RCMP officer Kevin Gregson was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death.

The street can't be found on a map, as there are no formal addresses. Under the proposal, Brisebois Crescent will be relocated off Centrum Boulevard.

All input on the proposal should be made before July 2 to Paul Blanchett, project co-ordinator with the city, at 613-580-2424, ext. 41421.
