The protest is organized by the Greater Ottawa Truckers Association and is expected to start at about 11 a.m.

It's aimed at raising awareness "about the unfair treatment Ontario construction contractors receive in Quebec," a news release said.

MPP Jack MacLaren will be speaking at the protest about his private members bill, Fairness is a Two-Way Street, which aims to stop Quebec construction companies from working in Ontario until Ontario construction companies can get work more easily in Quebec.

Also expected to appear at the protest are city Coun. Rick Chiarello and MPP Lisa MacLeod.

The news release said the RCMP could decide to shut down Champlain Bridge.
