Gatineau police have located a car they believe is linked to a suspicious house fire where a body was found Saturday.

Police located a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire Saturday night that they called a vehicle of interest in the fire investigation, but would not say who the vehicle belonged to or where they found it.

Earlier Saturday Gatineau police Const. Pierre Lanthier said they found evidence to suggest arson in the fire at 14 Rue de Gaspé, but declined to provide details.

It's also not clear if the victim found in the home was killed in the fire or already dead.

Neighbours said a woman lived in the home.

Police have yet to disclose the identity or sex of the victim, but said the victim's family has been notified.

Emergency personnel were called to the home at about 9:06 a.m. Saturday and police evacuated adjacent homes as a precaution as firefighters put out the fire.

Police have cordoned off the area around the home as they continue to investigate.
