Palladium opens in 1996 with Bryan Adams performing
Now named Canadian Tire Centre, the Palladium opened on Jan. 15, 1996
Twenty years ago today Ottawa's brand new arena opened in the west end as the Palladium featured Bryan Adams for its opening night.
The building, which took 18 months to construct, has since hosted more than 20 million guests at more than 1,100 live events. That doesn't include Ottawa Senators games, according to arena officials.
Disney On Ice and the Harlem Globetrotters are the only events to appear every year since the arena opened.
Over the two decades, the venue's set-up has been changed an astonishing 3,000 times.

Officials from the Canadian Tire Centre, as the building is currently named, have added up all the concessions sold over the 20 years. You might find some of these numbers amazing.
