A federal offender whose breach of parole led to a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested in Ottawa.

A federal offender whose breach of parole led to a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested in Ottawa.

Ottawa police said 56-year-old Andre Mayer was arrested without incident on Slater Street around 1:15 p.m. Monday.

Mayer had been serving six years in prison for armed robbery, pointing a firearm and disguise with intent when he breached his parole in late June, Ontario Provincial Police said.

The province’s Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) squad was involved in the search.
