The National Capital Commission recommends Ottawa residents and visitors use public transit to get to Canada Day festivities on Friday, and have announced a number of road closures for the downtown Ottawa area and part of Gatineau.

The map below shows the major road closures for July 1. Roads are closed to motor vehicles at the following times:

  • Red: Closed from 6:30 a.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Blue: Closed from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Green: Closed from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Light blue: Closed from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The area highlighted orange is closed to pedestrians from 4:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
