The Ottawa police guns and gangs unit is investigating after at least one shot was fired inside a Lepage Avenue apartment building Wednesday night.

Ottawa police say residents approached on-duty officers at 9:40 p.m. saying two suspicious men were spotted at an apartment building at 1400 Lepage Ave., which is near the intersection of Kirkwood Avenue and Merivale Road.

The residents said one man was carrying a gun. A 911 call made at the same time reported a gunshot at the building.

Officers then found a bullet hole in the building's wall.

Police said at least one shot was fired, but nobody was injured.

Nobody has been arrested.

This incident comes after several recent gang-related shootings over the past month in Ottawa.
