Tens of thousands of Gatineau residents are under a boil-water advisory after a watermain break.

The city issued the advisory for Masson-Angers and Buckingham on Friday following a major watermain break in the city’s east end.

Residents are asked to boil water before consuming it until the order is lifted, whether or not their water pressure has been affected.

Around 27,500 people are affected.

The city says municipal crews are working to fix the situation.

Both neighbourhoods were under a similar advisory last month because of work at a Buckingham waste treatment plant.
