Ottawa Public Health on Friday lifted a boil water advisory for about 600 homes that tap into the Carlsbad Trickle Feed water system.

The advisory had been issued as a precaution after a construction contractor damaged the pipes Wednesday, leading to a loss of water pressure that may allow groundwater or soil contamination to seep into the watermain pipes.

The city's public health agency had advised residents to bring their water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for all consumption purposes, including drinking, making juice, ice and infant formula, as well as for use in food preparation.
