Richmond Hill man's body recovered in Big Rideau Lake
Victim identified as 24-year-old Bryan Phillips
Ontario Provincial Police in Lanark Country have recovered the body of a 24-year-old man from the waters of the Big Rideau Lake, about an hour and a half southwest of Ottawa.
Police say Bryan Phillips, originally from Richmond Hill, Ont., was boating with family and fell into the water.
They said he was not wearing a personal flotation device.
Officers were first called to the scene near Perth around 10:30 a.m. on Friday. They said the possible drowning happened in a narrow section of lake where Big Rideau Lake and Lower Rideau Lake meet.
Crews spent the weekend looking for Phillips and police, with help from the underwater search and recovery unit, found his body on Sunday.
The body was sent for a post-mortem exam on Monday.
