Autopsy results have confirmed a 44-year-old woman found dead in her west Ottawa home was stabbed to death.

A police source said the mother of three found by relatives around 1 p.m. Wednesday was killed by multiple stab wounds.

Nobody is in custody.

Neighbours told the CBC's Ryan Gibson the area is still under development with families constantly moving into new homes, so they don't know the family well.

On Wednesday police canvassed the neighbourhood around 174 Brambling Way, near Greenbank and Cambrian roads.
