The Ottawa police arson unit is investigating a Tuesday morning fire that has displaced five students living above a restaurant.

The blaze broke out inside the Famous Frenchy's restaurant at 506 Rideau St. near Augusta just after 1 a.m.

Everyone living in the two storeys above the main-floor restaurant managed to get out safely by the time firefighters arrived.

It took firefighters less than 20 minutes to put out the blaze, and no one was hurt.

It's the second time since August that the restaurant has caught fire.

On Aug. 24, six students were displaced when the basement kitchen caught fire.

The cause of Tuesday morning's blaze is under investigation.
