More than a year after a major fire destroyed part of a furniture factory near Maniwaki, Quebec police have made an arrest.

A 23-year-old man from Gracefield, Que., was arrested May 18 by Sûreté du Québec police, with help from MRC des Collines police.

He was interrogated by police then released from custody with conditions on a promise to appear in court, without charge.

His next appearance at the Gatineau courthouse is scheduled for Aug. 15, where Sgt. Marc Pessier said he could face an arson charge.

Les Bois Heritage of Kazabazua, Que., manufactures panelling, moulding and household furniture.

No one was injured in the fire, which the owner told police caused about $1 million in damage.

Police would not say what caused the fire.
