The 3rd annual Arboretum music festival opens on Monday and will once again celebrate the best local artists have to offer the city.

To kick it off, Our Ottawa speaks with festival artistic director Rolf Klausener about this year's lineup, which includes performances from Julie Doiron and the Wooden Stars, the Constantines and Kevin Drew.

Our Ottawa is CBC Television's weekly magazine program. It airs Saturday at 6 a.m. and Sunday and Monday at 11 a.m.

Join host Lucy van Oldenbarneveld for a look at what's happening in our community, as well as lifestyle tips and stories covering a wide range of topics, including health, consumer news, the arts and entertainment.

Also this week Our Ottawa takes a look at innovation around the city:

  • Wipebook: University of Ottawa grads create a better notebook that takes them to the Dragon's Den!
  • Blast on the job: Meet Canada's first female police bomb disposal technician with the RCMP.
  • Made in Ottawa:  A small local company called PowerStick is on the fast track to success making portable chargers.
  • Also, the CBC's Evan Solomon shares his cultural secret in the city. (Hint, it's close to Parliament Hill.)
