3 gunshots fired into home on Ottawa's Beausoleil Drive
Ottawa police are investigating after a central Ottawa home was hit by gunshots Wednesday evening.
They said they were called to the 100 block of Beausoleil Drive around 7:30 p.m.
Three shots were fired into the back windows of a house with a large family inside, according to police, but nobody was injured.
Police said they found three 9mm shell casings on the scene.
The word "rat" was also spraypainted onto a shed on the property where the shooting happened.
Staff Sgt. Ken Bryden runs the Ottawa police's guns and gangs unit and said the shooting was targeted.
"At the scene shortly thereafter there was some co-operation and then a couple hours later the tune was changed a bit," he said.
"So we're still working with the witnesses to see what we can get."
"(The family are) not really good for the neighbourhood," said 19-year-old Emily, a neighbour who didn't want her last name used.
"They get in a lot in trouble, it's not the first time they got complaints from other neighbours, so I'm not surprised."
Anyone with information is asked to contact the guns and gangs unit at 613-236-1222 extension 5050.
