Three high school girls are facing drug possession charges after a police sting behind a convenience store in Gatineau on Tuesday.
Police said they received complaints that some Hormidas-Gamelin high school students regularly visit a nearby convenience store at 300 Sauvé St. over the lunch break to consume drugs.
The complaints came from within the high school, as well as from neighbours, police said.
A total of 10 students were arrested, three of whom — all teenaged girls — are facing drug possession charges.
The school and their parents were notified, police said. The other seven students were released without charge.
The girls cannot be identified due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
