The five-year deal will bring Wi-Fi access to 25 locations across the city by July.

The City of Ottawa has released the 25 centres that should have free public Wi-Fi access by July.

IceNet Wireless submitted the winning bid that included a guaranteed $315,000 in revenue over the five-year term of the contract. There will also be bilingual support for users.

Services will be installed over the coming months in 25 recreation complexes and community centres, as well as the ByWard Market building, Ben Franklin Place and Ottawa City Hall. 

Here is the list of centres that will soon have Wi-Fi:

  • François Dupuis Recreation Centre.​
  • Minto Recreation Complex - Barrhaven.
  • Goulbourn Recreation Complex.

  • Heron Road Community Centre.
  • Hunt Club-Riverside Community Centre.
  • Jack Purcell Community Centre.
  • Jim Durrell Recreation Centre.
  • Kanata Leisure Centre.
  • Kanata Recreation Complex.
  • Nepean Sportsplex.
