Two west Quebec police officers helped deliver a baby girl north of Gatineau over the weekend, police say.
It happened in La Pêche early Sunday morning, according to a media release from MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais.
Officers arrived at a couple's home around 1:15 a.m. and found the pregnant woman's contractions were fast and regular.
"The officers were able to guide the parents until paramedics arrived and everything went well," the media release said.
The mother and her baby girl — the couple's first child — were both taken to a hospital in Gatineau but have since returned home.
