2 dogs shot in separate incidents north of Napanee
Both injured pets had to be euthanized
Two family dogs were hurt, and later had to be euthanized, after what provincial police say appear to be separate shootings north of Napanee, Ont., earlier this month.
Officers said they were first called out to Henderson Road near Marlbank, Ont., on Feb. 15 after an owner complained his yellow Labrador retriever had been shot twice in its hip area.
The owner told police he discovered the injuries when he called his dog in around 5 p.m.
Two days later another resident contacted police saying she believed her black lab had been shot in the head on Jan. 29. The owner told police she had let the dog out around 6 a.m. that day and found the dog injured at 7 p.m.
She said she came forward after hearing about the other injured dog.
Anyone with information about who may be responsible for shooting the dogs is asked to contact Napanee OPP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
