Ottawa police say two deer were spotted wandering in the downtown area late Sunday morning.

Police warned pedestrians and vehicles to avoid the area bouded by Rideau Street, the Cummings Bridge, Chapel Street and Range Road where the deer were seen.

If people have to access that area, police said to use caution.

They said people should not approach the deer as they hoped the animals would return to their natural habitat.
