Man arrested after pedestrian struck and killed in Gatineau, Que.
Collision occurred near Pine Street, Lucerne Boulevard on Sunday morning
A 29-year-old Cantley, Que., man has been arrested after a pedestrian was struck and killed in Gatineau's Aylmer sector Sunday morning.
Shortly after 9 a.m. ET, Gatineau police were called to the intersection of Lucerne Boulevard and Pine Street.
A pedestrian was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
His name and age have not been released.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested nearby shortly after the collision. Police have not released his name.
Gatineau police closed Lucerne between Frank-Robinson Avenue and Rue des Grands-Châteaux to traffic as they investigated the collision.
By 2 p.m. ET the road had reopened.

Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors. The investigation continues.
