A man was violently robbed in Yarmouth, N.S., early Sunday.

Three accused due in court Monday

A man was attacked with a sledgehammer and a pipe during a robbery in Yarmouth, N.S., early Sunday.

RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Clarke said the man, 46, was attacked with a weapon on Tooker Street at 12:15 a.m.

The man was taken to the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. “He was treated for serious injuries and later released,” Clarke said.

Six men were arrested, but three were released without charges. Three men face charges including robbery and assault causing bodily harm.

The accused are:

  • Ronald Dempsey Higby, 18
  • Desi Thomas Sisco, 21
  • Trevor Joseph Jacquard, 22

All three are from Yarmouth. The three are due in court Monday morning.

RCMP said it was not a random incident.
