Halifax Regional Police have charged a 52-year-old woman after evacuating one floor of a seniors' home on Gottingen Street following reports of a woman with a rifle in the building.
The woman has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, says Halifax Regional Police spokesperson Const. Pierre Bourdages.
Police surrounded the building just before 11 a.m. Thursday. They evacuated one floor of Sunrise Manor and had the woman contained within one unit of the building.
