Woman, 18, found with gunshot wound in north-end Halifax

A woman was found inside a home with a gunshot wound just after midnight on Sunday according to Halifax Regional Police.

No arrests have been made in connection with shooting on Duffus Street

A young woman was found inside a home with a gunshot wound just after midnight on Sunday, according to Halifax Regional Police. 

Officers were called to the 5000 block of Duffus Street for a weapons call at 12:06 a.m. on Sunday. 

After entering a residence, they found an 18 year old with a gunshot wound.

Paramedics were called and the woman was taken to the QEII Hospital where she remained for treatment Sunday morning.

Police are standing by to interview the victim, said Staff Sgt. Mark MacDonald.

Her name and condition have not been released.

No arrests have been made at this time, but police do not believe there is a risk to public safety.
