Halifax Regional Police are asking the public for information after a 17-year-old woman was struck at a Bedford crosswalk near the Chickenburger on Monday evening.
Officers were called to the intersection of the Bedford Highway and Dartmouth Road at approximately 5 p.m.
A 17-year-old crossing the Bedford Highway at a marked crosswalk was hit by a pickup truck turning left from Dartmouth Road onto the Bedford Highway.
Halifax Regional Police said the driver of the truck pulled into the parking lot of the Chickenburger and spoke with the girl who had been hit. He then drove away before police arrived, heading toward Halifax.
The teen was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
The vehicle involved is described as a white pickup truck. The driver is a man, believed to be in his 20s, with blond hair.
Monday's incident marks the seventh time this month that a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk has been struck by a vehicle in the Halifax region.
There have also been several other pedestrians accidents. A woman was seriously injured this weekend when she was pinned between two cars in a parking lot. In another incident Tuesday morning, an 11-year-old boy was hit by a car while running to catch a bus on St. Margarets Bay Road.
