Rescuers have reached a woman who fell about nine metres while hiking in Blomidon Provincial Park on Saturday.

A Cormorant helicopter was called in and a search and rescue technician has stabilized the hiker, according to Lt.-Cmdr. Bruno Tremblay of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre.

The injured woman and the man accompanying her on the hike were lifted to safety. 

RCMP say they got a call about the hiker at 1:45 p.m.
