Woman dead, 2 teens in hospital after Kennetcook crash
Section of Highway 354 closed for several hours on Monday
A 50-year-old woman from Selma is dead after a head-on collision between two vehicles in Kennetcook on Monday morning, according to Nova Scotia RCMP.
RCMP said a four-wheel drive Jeep collided with a Toyota vehicle carrying three people at around 8:20 a.m. AT on Highway 354.
The 50-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Two 14-year-old boys were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Mounties said the sole occupant of the Jeep was not hurt.
"My understanding was the roads were slippery at the time as well," said Sgt. Al Leblanc. "It was a serious collision, a very serious collision."
He said a traffic analyst is helping with the investigation.
Leblanc said Highway 354 will be closed until at least 2 p.m. It re-opened just after 4 p.m.
