Woman accused of throwing hot tea in CB officer's face
A 26-year-old woman from New Waterford allegedly threw hot tea at an officer during a traffic stop
A police officer in Cape Breton conducting a traffic stop allegedly had a cup of hot tea thrown in his face by a female driver.
The officer was responding to a speeding complaint on Jamieson Street near the corner of Victoria Road in Whitney Pier just after 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
The officer reports that after a brief conversation, the woman threw her tea at him from the car.
He called for assistance and the driver was arrested on the scene.
A 26-year-old woman from New Waterford is charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and some motor vehicle infractions.
The officer was not seriously hurt in the incident.
The woman will appear in court in September.
