Woman, 71, drowns in LaHave River
Neighbours tried to rescue woman using Sea-Doo
A 71-year-old woman from Halifax drowned in the LaHave River, east of Bridgewater, N.S. late Sunday evening.
Lunenburg District RCMP were called Sunday, just before 9 p.m., to a spot along the LaHave River in Dayspring, N.S.
Neighbours in the area saw the woman enter the water but she disappeared below the surface.
They attempted to rescue the woman using a Sea-Doo. After reaching her, they brought her back to shore.
First responders were called and attempts to revive her were unsuccessful.
Police are not releasing her name at this time.
The investigation into the drowning is ongoing.
