A truck caught on fire at the Truro Power Centre on Thursday, minutes after it was filled with 800 litres of fuel.
Truro Fire Service Chief Blois Currie said the driver smelled fumes in his truck and pulled off Highway 102 to the centre's parking lot.
He got out of the cab and the truck caught fire.
The 18-wheeler was carrying frozen chickens.
The fire was unrelated to another truck fire near Truro on Wednesday.
