Highway 101 eastbound is fully open again after an accident involving a tractor-trailer and SUV this morning forced the closure of one lane.

RCMP say the accident occurred near the community of St. Croix, just a few kilometres from Windsor.

Both vehicles were travelling eastbound when the SUV somehow ended up sideways, in front of the tractor-trailer.

The SUV was pushed by the tractor-trailer along the highway for a short distance before the smaller vehicle ended up in a snowbank.

Police say the two people in the SUV were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.

Exactly what caused the crash is still under investigation. RCMP say pavement was dry and clear at the time of the collision.
