Two young New Waterford women were rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash along Highway 102 outside of Halifax on Thursday evening.

The RCMP said a 23-year-old driver and 17-year-old passenger were in a car that rolled several times on Highway 102 inbound near Miller Lake.

It happened at around 6 p.m.

The teenager was ejected from the car and was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax. The driver was taken to the same hospital in an ambulance.

A portion of Highway 102 was closed for several hours on Thursday night.
