Teen driver ticketed for hitting girl in Dartmouth

Halifax police have ticketed a teenage driver they say struck a six-year-old girl Monday evening.

Halifax police have ticketed a teenage driver they say struck a six-year-old girl Monday evening.

Authorities say a 17-year-old boy hit the child while backing up to turn around on Kennedy Drive.

The girl was riding a scooter at the time.

She was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Police say the driver had a suspended licence.
