Teen charged with 2nd-degree murder in Stewiacke death
17-year-old boy is scheduled to appear in court on Monday
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Daniel Handrahan, 46, in Stewiacke, N.S., on Friday.
Colchester District RCMP were called to a home in Stewiacke at 3:30 a.m. Friday after receiving a report of a disturbance there. When they arrived, they found a man with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the Colchester East Hants Health Centre in Truro, where he was pronounced dead.
The teen was arrested at the scene and held in custody. He is scheduled to appear at Truro provincial court on Monday.
The suspect and Handrahan are not related and it's not yet known if the two knew each other.
