Public teachers from across the province will vote on a new collective agreement with the province April 18.

The Nova Scotia Teachers Union announced that a tentative deal was struck Friday, but the union released no details about the contract.

The last agreement expired July 31, 2012.

About 9,000 teachers are eligible to vote.

In the news release, Education Minister Ramona Jennex said the agreement is in the best interest of students and public education.
