Halifax police are looking for a possibly armed suspect after shots were fired in a motel parking lot on Parkland Drive Monday morning.

A 53-year-old man told police he was in a verbal dispute with a man he knew just before 6 a.m. AT. Police said the suspect, a 20 -year-old man, assaulted the victim and fired several shots, but no one was hit. 

They said the suspect then drove off in the victim's yellow Pontiac Aztek.

The victim made his way to a nearby business and called for help. He was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. 

Police described the young suspect as a Middle-Eastern man with a thin build, about five foot 10 with black hair and brown eyes.

The suspect is believed to be armed, so police are asking people to not approach him.
