No one was injured after a transformer hit the windshield of this car on Simmonds Drive in Burnside late Tuesday afternoon. (CBC)
A section of the Burnside Industrial Park is closed at this time after a plow struck a guy wire to a power pole, causing the transformer to hit a vehicle.
The wire was severed, releasing tension on the pole and causing three transformers to fall, one of which hit a vehicle near Simmonds Drive.
No one was injured.
There are several power lines on the road.
Simmonds is currently blocked off to traffic at Joseph Zatsman Drive and in a news release, Staff Sgt. Bill Morris said the area would remain blocked off for a while as power crews attempt to fix the pole and get the wires out of the street.
Police reached the scene of the crash around 4:18 p.m. Tuesday evening near 70 Simmonds Drive.
