5 men arrested in child luring sting operation
The 4-day operation was designed to catch men attempting to meet child prostitutes

Five men face charges for luring a child online following five seperate sting operations conducted by the Halifax Regional Police/RCMP Integrated Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit.
The four-day operation resulted in the arrests of five men:
- Mitchell Gary Rose-Kays, 25, of Halifax (also charged with possession of a controlled substance)
- Alan Tek, 29, of Halifax
- Peter Lee White, 39, of Halifax
- Donald William Moore, 43, of Shubenacadie
- Pierre (Rick) Joseph Simon, 57, of Hilden
In a news release, Const. Pierre Bourdages said the operation was the result of a noted increase in the number of young women engaged in online prostitution.
An officer, playing the role of a 16-year-old teen girl, messaged online with men who agreed to pay for sex with the teen. The undercover officer exchanged hundreds of emails with adult men and arranged meetings for sexual services to take place at local hotels.
Police arrested the five men listed above as they showed up to the hotels last week.
Rose-Kays, Tek, White, Moore and Simon were all released on conditions. They are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Apr. 2 to face charge of using a computer to communicate with a person believed to be under 18 for the purpose of prostitution.
