The president of the region's interprovincial bus company said a winter storm bearing down on the region could translate into delays and cancellations for travellers.

Environment Canada is calling for about 20 centimetres of snow in New Brunswick and P.E.I.

Nova Scotia could receive a heavy dose of rain.

Mike Cassidy said Maritime Bus passengers should keep a close eye on their website.

"We will have to make sure that before we start our program with Maritime Bus on a Sunday morning that it is safe to do so. Once we have analyzed the weather conditions, the road conditions, we will make our decision. But definitely we are tracking the storm," he said.

"We are trying to make our decision, which won't be made until the morning of, Sunday morning."
