Halifax Regional Police are investigating the scene of a suspicious death in Dartmouth after a man's body was found Monday afternoon.

Officers were called to a home on Chebogue Lane at 4:13 p.m. after a man, believed to be in his 20s, was found dead.

Const. Pierre Bourdages said in a news release that police are treating the death as suspicious.

Mike Crossman lives in the area. He said it's a safe community.

"It's very quiet," he said. "I have never seen the police up in this neighbourhood."

Colleen Penny said it's a good neighbourhood.

"It's safe and it's secure. My parents live in here, and you feel good about them living here," she said.

Bourdages said the investigation is still in its initial stages.
