For the second day in a row the Maritime Bus fleet is parked on Prince Edward Island.

The region's interprovincial bus service is up and running in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, but owner Mike Cassidy said the roads are too dangerous on the Island.

He said restrictions on the Confederation Bridge connecting P.E.I. and New Brunswick complicate their driving schedule.

"We are just getting the winds, we're getting the drifting and the bridge is closed to high-sided vehicles. We just decided that on Prince Edward Island it was not what we would call safe enough this morning to start out."

Cassidy said buses are running on time in the other two Maritime provinces.

"We've left it to the discretion of all the drivers. Every driver operating a route for Maritime Bus this morning said that they would like to make the attempt. They feel the roads are passable, the roads are safe."

Cassidy said he's considering loading customers onto 15-passenger vans to drive them over the bridge at noon.
