A 24-year-old man is facing attempted murder charges in connection with a drive-by shooting involving a taxi on Robie Street in Halifax in November.

Shea Alexander Durnford is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court on Friday on a dozen charges, including two counts of attempted murder and two counts of assault with a weapon.

Durnford, who was arrested Thursday morning in Fairview without incident, is also charged with numerous weapons-related offences. He is the fifth man accused in the case.

Halifax Regional Police were called to Robie and McCully streets in the early morning hours of Nov. 3, 2012, where a taxi driver approached them and said he had been involved in a shooting.

The taxi driver said he was driving a passenger northbound on Robie Street when a silver car pulled up and someone started shooting at the cab. No one was injured.

The passenger fled the cab as soon as the driver pulled over.

Three other men — Kirk Michael Wright, Kyle Douglas Shipley and Everett Douglas MacNeil, all 24 years old — have also been charged in the November incident.

A fifth man accused in the incident continues to be the subject of a Canada-wide warrant.

Andrew Jason Hudder, 26, is wanted on two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a weapon and nine weapons-related offences.

He is described as white, six feet one inch tall, weighing 165 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Hudder is considered by Halifax Regional Police to be armed and dangerous.
