Three men face drug, gaming charges

Three New Waterford men are facing numerous drug and gaming related charges after Cape Breton police searched a home Friday night being operated as an illegal gaming and alcohol establishment.
Police tell CBC News that a tip from the general public lead police to begin surveillance on the home. They then collected enough evidence for a search warrant.
During the search, officers with the Service Drug Section seized and illegal video lottery terminal, prescription pills, marijuana and cash.
A 47-year-old man was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday to face the following charges.
- Trafficking in hydromorphone.
- Possession of trafficking hydromorphone.
- Possession of methadone.
- Possession of marijuana.
- Keeping a gaming house.
Another 47-year-old man was released with a promise to appear in court on Mar. 27 to face charges of being found in a gaming house and possession for the purpose of trafficking Ritalin.
A 66-year-old man is also scheduled to be back in court the same day to face a charge of being found in a gaming house.
