A 41-year-old man has died in a single vehicle crash on Highway 7 at Bear Hill Road on Saturday, according to police.

Investigators responded to the scene near Musquodoboit Harbour at 3:27 p.m.

A 17-year-old woman was driving the pickup truck and traveling east when it veered out of control, left the roadway and struck trees on the passenger side of the truck.

Emergency crews attempted to treat the man, but he died of his injuries.

The female driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are closing the road while they investigate the cause of the accident.

Cpl. Scott MacRae said weather conditions were poor at the time of the crash.
