Drivers around Halifax woke up to their first official snowfall of the year, and the first round of tickets from the city's winter parking ban.
The city handed out 325 tickets overnight. But it said no vehicles were towed for breaking the rules.
HRM said this year it would give residents more notice when the ban was in effect. The city launched a new program called CityWatch to alert people. The automated system calls homes and sends emails to people who sign up for notifications.
Halifax came under fire last year for issuing more than 1,000 tickets in one night alone because people were parked on the streets when the ban was in place.
Some snow removal slow
But it wasn't just drivers who felt a chill from the snow.
City workers themselves were criticized because of a slow response to plowing the roads in some neighbourhoods.
Roads were ploughed in the Hammonds Plains area Thursday morning after complaints from residents and the local municipal councillor.
